# Robot Combat: Build and demo session

Like the TV shows Battlebots and Robot wars, in combat robotics participants build and fight robots in three minute matches to determine a winner. This event aims to be an approachable introduction to this amazing sport in a way that doesn't require existing knowledge or technical skills. It's a great opportunity to talk to builders, share ideas, try driving a robot for the first time, work on your own build, and prepare for our upcoming 150g tournament in [October](https://members.artifactory.org.au/events/d69cac3c-07dd-40cf-b049-1334af857387).

### Want to try driving a combat robot?

Our arena will be set up for anyone to test their creations throughout the event! We'll also have robots for loan so anyone can give it a try in a relaxed non tournament environment. Absolutely anyone can come along, ask questions and get help building their bots!

We've compiled a set of [resources](https://members.artifactory.org.au/events/series/combat-robots) that aim to give you the info you need to get building ASAP, whether that be a robot built from scratch or a kit from an Australian supplier.

### What to bring

* All you need is an enthusiasm for robots to get started. If you've got an existing robot or an in progress build you're welcome to bring it along!
* Enclosed footwear is required for all attendees

### Minors

Attendees under 18yrs old need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The Artifactory is a workshop environment and attendees under 13yrs old must be heavily supervised.

### Cost

Coming to check out the event and test driving one of our robots is free! If you want to test out your own robot in the arena or work on your build access to the workshop for this first event is only $10.
